The all-new 207 was parked right under our noses at the Cape Town Civic Centre - an office block away from Wheels24 head quarters in the Media24 building.
The still secret 207 was being photographed for advertisement and publicity purposes.
A surprised advertisement team and security guards watched helplessly on Sunday as Wheels24 photographer William McIntosh snapped the secret 207, while he and Wheels24 deputy editor Wilmer Müller drove past the shoot.
This is the third future Peugeot product Wheels24 spied within a 500 metre radius from our offices. In 2004 Wheels24 brought the world the first photos of the 1007 and 107 too.
Although the 207 was slightly disguised it was clear that it is sportier and bigger than the current 206.
Its design is influenced by its 407 big brother and styling cues include chunky wheelarches, a dramatically curved C-pillar, a steeply raked bonnet, Peugeot's "wide mouth" grille and angled headlights.
The car is set to be launched at the 2006 Geneva Motor Show and will come with a range of new petrol and diesel engines. South African sales will start in the second half of next year.
