Cape Town - Wheels24 brings you exclusive spy photos of the new VW Polo! These photos, which are a world scoop, show the 2005 Volkswagen Polo undisguised!
Wheels24 photo editor William McIntosh spied the new Polo in the Cape Town city centre on Wednesday.
The car was being filmed for advertisement purposes opposite the Media24 building, where the Wheels24 offices are too.
Volkswagen will officially showcase the face-lifted Polo at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show. Its new design will bring the car in line with VW's latest design trend as inspired by the Concept C.
The changes to the Polo are quite dramatic and the biggest styling changes are reserved for its front.
VW is doing away with the current model's twin circular front lights which are making way for single units, similar to that of the Concept C. Furthermore the Polo is getting a new grille and front bumper design.
At the rear VW has revised the car's hatch with a new rear window design while the taillights are also fresh.
The engine line-up will probably stay the same but rumours have it that VW could equip the Polo with a 2-litre FSI engine with a power output of about 110kW. Another new engine possibility is the introduction of a 2-litre turbodiesel unit.
We expect that the new-look Polo will arrive in South Africa in the second half of 2005.
