VIDEO: 96-car pile-up

Pictures and videos of the pile-up show how drivers lost control of their vehicles because of poor visibility, slippery tar and the strong wind.

NO MAJOR INJURIES

An Ontario provincial police spokesperson said officers counted 96 vehicles involved in the chain-reaction crash on Highway 400 south of Toronto but no major injuries were reported.

It happened as a snow squall moved into the region off Lake Huron and Georgian Bay in south-eastern Canada, creating white-out conditions on the highway.

Provincial police reported several highway closures across south-western Ontario.
