MAKHADO - Three scrapyard mechanics appeared in the Makhado Magistrate's Court on Monday (March 11) for allegedly being in possession of stolen BMW cars and parts.
Waspa Majiri, 21, Fulufhelo Malada, 28, and Takalani Tshaamano, 23, were each granted R2000 bail against their return to court on April 30.
They were arrested on Saturday at a scrapyard call "BMW Specialist" just outside Makhado but the yard's owner is still missing.
50 ENGINES
"Seven BMW vehicles whose value is estimated to be several millions of rands which were reported stolen in Sandton, Pinetown, Meadowlands, Cape Town Central, Durban Central and Mamelodi East were found at the scrapyard with engines and other body parts removed," a police spokesman said.
Police also found more than 50 BMW engines and doors on the premises.
