NEXT-GEN AURIS STATION WAGON: Underneath the hideous camouflage lies Toyota’s next-generation Auris.

Late in 2011, we reported on Toyota hoping to tighten its grip on eco-friendly technology with the introduction of its Auris Hybrid Synergy Drive (HSD) in South Africa. The Japanese automaker launched its hybrid Auris as it plans to launch the next generation version of its large hatchback.

Snapped on a secret test ground, images of the Toyota’s Auris Estate have been captured.

The model, previously not in the Japanese’s model line-up, will likely make its debut later 2012 or early in 2013.

Image gallery!

Not much is known about chassis or engines of the new model, but our images clearly show the estate variant will be much larger than the next Auris hatchback.

We expect four-cylinder 74 – 134kW petrol and diesel along with a 100kW petrol-hybrid and an electric version.
