Volkswagen insiders announced that it would ditch its Scirocco in 2017. Before that dreaded date, spy photographers captured images of a facelifted Scirocco in the works.
In 2012, sources inside the Volkswagen development centre said that the Scirocco will not receive a makeover and that the current model would be ditched by 2017.

Spy images show that the two-door coupe will receive a minor makeover. The majority of the changes will be cosmetic with a focus on the front. Expect to see a new front in the style of the current Passat CC.
The rearlights will be slightly re-designed and the interior is expected to spruced-up.
