SPIED: S63 AMG at the ‘Ring
SPOTTED AT THE NÜRBURGRING: Don’t let the garish camouflage fool you, beneath the black tape lies Mercedes-Benz next S63 AMG.
Mercedes-Benz is preparing the next AMG variant of its flagship S-Class. The new model was spotted undergoing testing near Germany’s Nürburgring.
The heavily camouflaged S63 AMG can be seen sporting a larger air intake than the outgoing model and in our gallery you can spot the model’s high performance brakes and AMG wheels.
Rumour has it the German automaker’s 5.5 litre V8 turbo will power the S63 while a bi-turbo variant of the same engine will power the S65 capable of 469kW.
The current 6.2-litre engine used in previous 63 AMG models are set to be phased out.
Both engines should be mated to seven-speed Speedshift MCT transmissions, which will ensure this is really a fast flagship.
