Renault is set to revamp its Clio in the near future with a radical new design. Our spies captured images of the new model undergoing cold-weather testing.

The new model is expected to use a revised version of the Clio's current platform and the same three-cylinder petrol engine as found in the Nissan Micra.

The model makes a drastic shift in terms of design from the current model. It seems as though the French automaker has borrowed elements from its popular Megane model for the new Clio.

Renault has not set a launch date for the new model but we could expect the prototype to debut at the Paris auto show in September 2012.
