ROADSTER: Mini's new roadster will make its global debut later in 2011

Our spies braved the cold to photograph Mini’sn upcoming drop-top roadster in action.

Despite wearing camouflage on the rear end, the rest of the car shows off much in terms of new design.

The new model sports rounder lines than the Coope, particularly around the windscreen. It looks shorter, more sloped and curvier from A-pillar to A-pillar than the current Cooper.

The rear of the roadster prototype sports a retractable spoiler, a double-piped, centre-mounted exhaust and an extra set of lights on the bumper grille insert.

Apart from the obvious design changes, it's still hard to tell what exactly Mini is hiding with the swirly-pattern disguise on the prototype.

The soft-top model looks similar to the Roadster Concept Mini unveiled at the 2009 Frankfurt auto show.

The Mini Roadster will make its debut later in 2011.
