MOM'S SUPER TAXI: Mini family Countryman gets a sports tuning upgrade courtesy of John Cooper Works.
Things warmed up around the Nürburgring after our spy photographers spotted Mini’s latest model undergoing testing – a John Cooper Works Countryman.
The Countryman JCW, along with the Coupe and Roadster JCW reported in June 2011, is the latest Mini to benefit from the tuning company.
The new performance model sports an assertive body bit, a ventilated bonnet, large brakes and huge wheels. It will be powered by a turbocharged 1.6-litre four-cylinder engine capable of 154kW/280Nm and drive through a six-speed manual transmission which, experts reckon, will give it a seven-second 0-100km/h time.
The Mini Countryman JCW will be launched in 2012.
