Hyundai is set to change the naming of its model line-up with the European version of its Sonata now expected to use the i40 moniker. Most Hyundai models will adopt a numerical naming system as of 2011.
Our spies spotted the new i140 in Estate guise undergoing road tests in Scandinavia. With its low profile and sloping roof, the estate will be very lifestyle-oriented. Though judging from the pics it seems more like an elongated hatchback without the practical large estate-like boot.
Engines will be derived from the i40 sedan, and the range will include a pair of direct injection (GDI) four-cylinder petrol engines, as well as an eventual petrol-electric hybrid model.
