STICKING TO TRADITION: M-fans will be pleased to hear that though a V6 turbo engine was considered, BMW decided to stick with its traditional layout of an in-line six cylinder engine for the M4 Coupe.

Now it seems the German automaker is testing a coupe variant of its new 4 Series.

Ever since the new BMW 3 Series was launched earlier in 2012 we’ve been eager to catch a glimpse of the coupe version, to be named the 4 Series.

We’ve managed to get our hands our spy images of the new 4 Series along with the German automaker’s performance variant – the M4.

335KW ON TAP

The new model borrows the front end of the 3 Series along with a lower nose, flared arches and the trademark M division side vents.

The rear end is very reminiscent of the current coupe.

The new M3 and M4 models were recently confirmed by Ludwig Willisch, president of BMW North America, to be powered by an in-line six-cylinder turbo engine.

The new M4 Coupe is expected to deliver 335kW.
