The rear sees a shape similar to that of the current 3 Series convertible though with the addition of a updated bumper as well as quad exhausts.
The new M4 coupe and cabrio were confirmed to be powered by an in-line six-cylinder turbo engine.
The previous M3 used a four-litre V8 capable of 309kW/400Nm while the new M4 will have a lighter three-litre six-cylinder turbo capable of 317kW/550Nm (an increase of 8kW/150Nm).
The M4 range is expected to be offered with a choice of a six-speed manual or seven-speed dual-clutch auto.
