Earlier in 2011 we brought you images of Audi’s new A6 Avant during winter testing, albeit a heavily disguised prototype. Our spies' patience paid off and we’re pleased to bring you these shots of a near production-ready version. It’s clear, without its garish camouflage, that A6 Avant looks rather sporty with angular headlights and styling tweaks to the lower grille. The car also has new door releases and side mirrors. The 2012 Avant will undergo a dramatic change as the vehicle moves away from Volkswagen’s C-Chassis to ride on Audi’s modular aluminium chassis. The engine range should include a supercharged three-litre V6 and a new four-litre V8 that's under development. Two new transmissions will also be available, an-eight speed auto and a seven-speed dual clutch. Production should start during the first half of 2011 at Audi's Neckarsulm plant in Germany.
