GOLF R IN THE WORKS: Expect Volkswagen to launch its next Golf R at the end of 2013 or the beginning of 2014.
While the standard model of the all-new Volkswagen Golf Mk.VII is about to debut at the Paris auto show in September, images of Wolfsburg’s top-of-the-range model - the Golf R - have been captured.
Like its predecessors it will be distinguished by an assertive fascia, aerodynamic side skirts and a centre-mounted dual exhaust system that is not mounted on the prototype yet.

The model will feature a sports-tuned suspension, a high-performance braking system and 19" or 20" alloy wheels.
Volkswagen said the interior benefits from “Nappa leather sport seats, piano black trim and carbon fibre accents.”
The all-wheel-drive Golf R will be powered by a turbocharged 2.0 capable of 200kW and 350 Nm of torque.
According to VW, this will enable its next hot hatch to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in “less than six seconds” and reach a top speed of 250 km/h.
