We’ve had a quite a few models snapped by spy photographers in June 2012 that will have many petrolheads salivating when these new vehicles finally make their debut.
Aston Martin has since announced the revival of its Vanquish moniker, but we have pictures of the British automaker testing out its DBS replacement at Germany’s Nürburgring circuit. The new model is powered by the same 6-litre V12 as the DBS, developing 421kW (up from 380kW in the current DBS) at 6750rpm and 620Nm at 5500rpm.
The new Vanquish, Aston Martin said, will rocket from 0-100km/h in 4.1 seconds and has a top speed of 293km/h.
SUPERCARS AND HOT HATCHES
Not to be outdone by its British supercar rival, Jaguar will debut a track-focused XKR-S to take on rivals Porsche 911 GT3 RS and the Audi R8 GT. The new XKR-S retains its supercharged 5-litre V8 powerplant though rumour has it power will be increased from 410kW to 447kW.
After months of rumours, images of Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series model have finally been captured. The new model, spotted at the Nürburgring, is a monstrous supercar with assertive styling to match its powerful 6.2-litre V8 capable of 477kW/677Nm.
Moving away from supercars, Audi and Renault are ramping up production of their hot hatches, namely the new S1 and Clio RS.
Audi’s S-tuned A1 will receive a sporty makeover as well as a 2.0 four-cylinder engine capable of 164kW.
Renault’s next-generation Clio sports radical design changes over the outgoing model. The French automaker’s Renault Sport version was spotted undergoing circuit testing and the new Clio RS looks to be a potent hot hatch with an upgraded version of the current 2.0 four-cylinder engine capable of around 157kW.
