FATAL DOUBLE TROUBLE: Emergency services responded, but could do nothing to help a Gauteng driver caught by TWO road accidents.

Johannesburg - A man who freed himself from a car wreck in Alberton, south of Johannesburg, on Sunday (Aug 12) was killed moments later by a second vehicle.

A young boy travelling with him was also critically injured. Neither was immediately identified.

BOY STABILISED

An emergency service spokesperson said the man's car overturned on the N3 as it passes through the town. He managed to clamber from the wreckage but into the path of an oncoming car as its driver tried to avoid the wreckage.

The spokesman said his body was found in the middle of the freeway.

"The boy, however, was treated and stabilised at the scene and taken by ambulance to hospital."
