Wheels24 can reveal this exclusively - we spotted the Polo TDi and have photos to prove it!
On Friday we spotted two black Polo TDi's in Green Point, Cape Town. A crew was busy photographing the cars for advertisement purposes. Wheels24 got hold of a camera to take our own spy pics.
The two black Polo's was both right-hand drive and had Western Cape personalised number plates.
Recently we speculated that Volkswagen might consider introducing a diesel version of the new Polo. It is not sure yet which turbodiesel engine the Polo will get. Overseas the car is available with a 1.4TDi and a 1.9TDi power train.
But one thing is sure and that is that the Polo TDi - in either engine guise - will have exceptional fuel consumption and good performance figures.
We can also tell you that the new generation Polo is a stunner and it seems if the car is of exceptional quality. It has the same classy look as the current Golf and appears modern.
The new Polo moves more upmarket and the price tag will be a bit higher than the current range. But at the look of things one will get a lot of car for your money.
The new Polo will make its South African debut very soon but only as a hatchback. A sedan version is expected to go on sale in the second half of next year.
Wheels24 will keep you up to date with the latest information on the new Polo. Watch this space!
