Schumacher takes out DTM crew

2012-08-27 11:07

WIPE OUT NOT RALF'S FAULT: Ralf Schumacher will probably need to avoid the Mercedes crew members he sent into hospital during the August 2012 DTM.

The dangers faced by a motorsport pit crew are great but sometimes negligence can prove equally hazardous to pit crew members' health.

A video uploaded to YouTube shows how Ralf Schumacher wiped out four Mercedes DTM pit crew members in an adjacent pit in August 2012.

The reason for the accident? A low-hanging air line.

In the video you can see Schumacher driving his AMG coupe out of the pit when his vehicle's rear wing catches the swinging air line. It then whipped and struck members of the crew. Four people were initially sent to the hospital and three have now been released.

The entire ordeal is bizarre and you can see how the members were launched into the air with tremendous force.
