BERLIN, Germany - Earlier in 2015, Wheels24 reported on 2016 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe prototypes being spotted by spy photographers. In April, spy images revealed what will become the AMG C63 Coupe.
As Mercedes is desperate to conceal the roofline of its future AMG-badged car, the two-door, C-Class prototype is still heavily camouflaged. Its front air intakes appear to be really huge.
While the previous C-Class coupe was a rugged-looking proposal aimed at emotionally connecting its owner to DTM racing, the new model will have a more toned-down visual approach. The idea is to keep things in line with the S63 AMG Coupe.
The prototype has centre-lock rims, a feature also available on the S-model that will deliver 375kW.

The Mercedes-AMG C63 Coupe will borrow the sedan’s 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 unit. The only major difference between this and the 4-litre V8 on the Mercedes-AMG GT sportscar is the dry sump lubrication used on the latter, whereas the first sticks to the traditional wet sump solution.
While the 2016 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe is expected to be exhibited at the 2015 Frankfurt auto show.
