SA vehicle sales: Here's a look at which province has the most car sales by the numbers

It is safe to say that people are are still buying new cars per month despite the ever increasing price of fuel and our fragile economy.

Gauteng, KZN and the Western Cape have seen healthy numbers for the month of May, compared to places like the Free State, North West and Northern Cape where passenger cars aren't that much in demand, mostly because of population tallies being a key factor.

Vehicle sales by province

Lightstone Auto has provided us with a list of passenger car sales by province. Lightstone's data includes overall sales so far in 2018 as well as May.

Overall, Gauteng leads the way with 10 136 units sold in May alone and 53 827 to date.
