Cape Town - The Corolla/Auris/Quest trio once again led the way for Toyota, topping the list for compact-medium cars in August 2017.
It was the only vehicle in it segment to have scored a sales figure in excess of a thousand units.
Leader of the pack
The Corolla/Auris/Quest had an accumulative sales figure of 1343 units. The Ford Focus sold the second-most units on 468; beating another favourite, the Volkswagen Golf, on 462 units.
In fourth place was the Hyundai Elantra. The Korean automaker sold 243 of these cars during August, followed by the Mazda 3 on 211 units.
In sixth place sits the Opel Astra, some way down on the top five. Despite grabbing the 2017 South African Car of the Year only found 51 new homes.
SA's best-selling bakkies: Toyota Hilux dominates sales
The Renault Mégane sold 31 units to grab seventh place, followed by the Volvo V90 (28 units) in eighth.
The Honda Civic found 24 new owners and the Kia Cerato, in tenth place, 21.
