Cape Town - What a month it has been for the Toyota Hilux!

South Africa’s best-selling vehicle has continued its dominance in 2017 with an astounding sales-figure of 3995 units, besting its nearest competitor by more than 1600 units.

Ranger and co.

The Ranger continued to be SA’s second favourite bakkie, but it lost out to the Volkswagen Polo Vivo as the second overall best-selling vehicle for September 2017.

Regardless, Ford managed to sell 2337 Rangers; well ahead of the Nissan NP200 in third place (1638 units).

Another local hero, the Isuzu KB, found 1440 new owners in fourth place, followed by the Nissan NP300/Hardbody on 1013 units.

Dropping quite sharply down the ranks in terms of sales is the Chevrolet Ute in sixth place, managing to secure only 412 new owners. Sales of this bakkie stalwart could  continue to dwindle in light of Chevy pulling out of the country.
