Best-selling bakkies in SA: Toyota Hilux runs rampant in May

When it comes to sales, the Toyota Hilux continues to probe popular in SA, both in the local bakkie market and as an overall best-seller.

Sales in May 2018 proved no different as the Hilux accumulated a total sales figure of 3338 units. It’s closest rival, the Ford Ranger, managed 2819 units.

That NP200…

The Nissan NP200 is by no means intimidated by its bigger rivals and, as the sole half-tonner in our market, comfortably slips into third place with 1825 units.

The Isuzu KB sits pretty in fourth place with 1298 units, while the Nissan NP300/Hardbody is fifth with 798 units.

Volkswagen’s Amarok continues its strong run of success in sixth place having signed of 324 units to new customers. The Toyota Land Cruiser pick-up found 217 new owners, while the Mahindra Scorpio pik-up is eighth with 188 units.

The GWM Steed did well with 173 units to slot into ninth place, and the Nissan Navara rounds out the top ten on 159 units.
