Cape Town - The Toyota Hilux grabbed the top spot as South Africa’s best-selling bakkie in November 2017.
The Hilux raked in sales 3243 units - 185 units more than the second-placed Ford Ranger.
Behind the Hilux, the Ranger was the only other bakkie to achieve a sales figure in excess of 3000 units. With 3058 units, the Ranger is also SA’s second-best selling vehicle overall, behind the Hilux.

The Nissan NP300/Hardbody finished in third place with 1570 units sold, followed by the Isuzu KB on 1499. The Nissan NP200 missed out on the 1000-unit mark with sales of 976 units.
In sixth place is the Volkswagen Amarok with 254 units, followed by the Chevrolet Ute (198 units). The Toyota Land Cruiser pick-up again impressed grabbing in eighth place with 168 bakkies finding new owners.
The new Mahindra Scorpio pick-up (138 units) and Nissan Navara (117 units) completes the top ten.
