FORT MYERS, Florida - A Lexus car ploughed into a Baptist church in Florida on Easter Monday and injured 20 congregants.
The incident happened on Monday (April 20 2014).
About 200 people were in the Second Haitian Baptist Church for an evening service.
RUNAWAY LEXUS
A police spokesperson said: "The vehicle crashed through the wall driving over several occupied pews.
"Vehicle jacks and brute force were used to lift the vehicle to rescue people trapped beneath the Lexus sedan while waiting for medics." Some of the injured treated by area hospitals were listed as seriously hurt.
The driver, the lone occupant of the vehicle, said her brakes failed and she lost control of the car.
