The facelift applies to all the Megane models which include the hatch, sedan, coupe-cabriolet and Renault Sport versions.

The diesel range has been expanded with the introduction of the 110kW version of the latest 2.0 dCi unit as well as the inclusion of a periodic regeneration particulate filter for the 1.9 dCi unit, whose power output has been 95 kW. There 1.5 dCi engine also now kicks out 77kW.

The petrol engines remain unchanged.

In terms of styling the biggest changes are reserved for the front and the headlights, grille and front bumper boast a new look. The headlights appear more high-tech thanks to their elliptical modules and "V" of the grille is more pronounced.

Changes at the rear are more subtle but there are new taillights and a new bumper too.

On the inside the range features new materials but the basic architecture remains the same.

The new look Megane will arrive in South Africa in March or April.
