Perky Austin 7's seek adventure

LONDON, England - The UK's annual National Austin 7 Rally will take place on July 7, 2013, on the Beaulieu Estate in southern England.

South Africa has its own Austin 7 club, welcoming anyone with an interest in Austin cars, and meets monthly in Gauteng and in other areas at various times.

Enthusiastic UK owners and their pre-war Austin 7's will be heading in their hundreds to what the organisers, the 750 Motor Club, claim to be an ideal day out for the family.

They may be small but what they lack in size they make up for in “dependability” – as shown by the adventures they, and their owners, get up to.

Further afield an intrepid group of three Austin 7's is making its way from Buenos Aires to New York – a 17 700km journey across 12 countries and two continents. At least one of the cars is likely to be at Beaulieu in July.

Full details and entry forms can be found on the website.
