Nissan's bio toy for the rich?

Nissan has joined the bandwagon of adding timepieces to its merchandise line-up and this one combines your health stats with your car.

LONDON, England - Japanese automaker Nissan has created a biometric reader in the form of a smart watch to combine your personal health stats with your car.

The Nismo Watch works in conjunction with the systems inside its Nismo series cars. It can display speed, fuel consumption and performance data once its paired to the car’s computer via Bluetooth and then combine the car's stats with the driver's biometric data via a heart rate monitor.

And,if you're lacking - or overzealous - in self-esteem you can also rate your "social performance" across social networks via an app called Social Speed software.

Wheels24 is not too sure why one would need something like this? Perhaps its a novel piece which those who can afford it will splurge money on? Email us and we'll publish your thoughts or use the Readers' Comments section below...
