Radical looking Murano here soon

Wheels24 predicted before that the Murano is heading to local shores, but now we can tell you that it will finally go on sale here in October.

This striking Murano is a futuristic looking SUV, which will definitely stand out in a crowd. Despite the availability of a front-wheel-drive model, South Africa is to get the all-wheel-drive Murano.

Under the bonnet will be Nissan's 3.5-litre V6 engine but the most interesting feature will be the continuously variable transmission (CVT), which eliminates the "steps" between gears for a smoother, more efficient operation.

Other available features include Vehicle Dynamics Control (VDC) and traction control. The suspension features four-wheel independent suspension with rear multi-link and stabiliser bars, plus Brake Assist and Electronic Brake force Distribution with ventilated disc brakes all round.

  • 3.5-litre DOHC 24 valve V6 engine
  • 172 kW @ 6000 r/min
  • 318 Nm @ 3600 r/min
