LOS ANGELES, California - Make-up giant Coty's subsidiary OPI has announced a collaboration with Ford to create a unique collaboration featuring the iconic Ford Mustang and a collection of nail polishes.
The products will launch internationally in July 2014. Mustang Sally (aka Della Reese, some say) would have appreciated them...

OPI's co-founder and executive VP Suzi Weiss-Fischmann said: "OPI is thrilled to partner with one of the world's top automotive companies in celebrating 50 years of the Ford Mustang. For women, cars and nail lacquer offer a way to express personality, so this new collection will deliver elements of sophistication, luxury, power and style fitting for both OPI and Mustang owners."

The collection's hero shade, ‘race red’, is a tribute to one of Mustang's most iconic paint colours.
Mustang's marketing manager Melanie Banker added: "Ford's Mustang inspires passion like no other car. We are excited to be working with OPI on an exclusive collection that will capture the spirit of our iconic car.
"There is no better way to express the Mustang's bold personality and the excitement it creates than through colour."

The Ford Mustang's half-century of production puts it in very rare company - the Porsche 911, the Mini and Corvette are just a few others.
More than 9.2-million have been made and the car has made more about 3000 appearances in films and on TV – including its upcoming big-screen appearance as the hero car in "Need for Speed". The SA-bound Ford Mustang will make its big-screen debut in the ‘Need for Speed’ film set to be released later in 2014. Check out the awesome video!
The 2015 Mustang, which is expected to be sold in right-hand drive format in South Africa, claims to be the most advanced yet with innovative connectivity systems and technology.
OPI's claim to fame comes, the company says, "through an exceptional formula, fashionable colours and iconic names.
OPI said: "Our heavily-pigmented lacquers are super rich, long-lasting and chip-resistant and are sold in more than 100 countries - a full line of nail treatments, finishing products, lotions, manicure/pedicure products, files, tools and acrylics."
