MotoGP: Just Doha, then green lights

DOHA, Qatar - MotoGP teams will descend on Qatar’s Losail International Circuit for the last test before the 2014 season commences on March 23.
 
Pre-season testing will today and will run until March 9 2014 from 3pm - 10pm, the final opportunity for teams to try new components and race simulation before race day.

Repsol Honda, newly named Movistar Yamaha and Ducati will not be there testing, following the tyre safety test for Bridgestone at Phillip Island. Monster Yamaha Tech3, Go&Fun Honda Gresini, LCR Honda, NGM Mobile Forward Racing and Drive M7 Aspar will all be at Doha .

FIRST APPEARANCE

Paul Bird Motorsport will return to action with Michael Laverty and Broc Parkes, having elected to miss the second Sepang test, while IodaRacing Project and Danilo Petrucci will make its first on-track appearance of 2014. Cardion AB Motoracing rider Karel Abraham is recovering from a shoulder injury.

Pramac Racing riders Andrea Iannone and Yonny Hernandez will be tasked with continuing Ducati’s work after the Italian manufacturer announced that all its motorcycles under the Open banner in 2014.

Warm conditions are a certainty, sandstorms remain a threat, at the desert-based facility which has featured on the MotoGP calendar since 2004.

Across the course of the test, live timing and frequent video features from the circuit and its surroundings will be available on motogp.com.
