LONDON, England - Mitsuoka Motors' "classic" Mitsuoka Roadster will make its European debut mid-June 2015 and be on display in several showrooms across southern England.
The Japanese automaker claims to have "revolutionised global expectations of a true modern classic sports car" with British sporting design's elegant flowing lines - "timeless styling with advanced levels of modern technology, safety and comfort".
The two-litre coupe is available with either a six-speed manual transmission or a six-speed Powershift gearbox which can be driven using the paddle shift controls mounted behind the steering wheel.
FASTEST HARDTOP
The rear wheel drive Roadster is fully equipped with the latest technology, advanced safety features and modern conveniences, claims its maker, and sports the world's fastest power-retractable hardtop - opening and closing in 12 seconds with just the flick of a switch.
Heatable leather seats and auto climate control aircon are standard goodies. Safety items includes anti-lock brake system with electronic brakeforce distribution, dynamic stability control with traction control; as well as front and side airbags and the supplementary restraint system.
CLASSIC HERITAGE
Mitsuoka Project Manager for T W White & Sons Jen White said: "The UK represents one of the largest classic car markets in the world. The unique design of the Roadster draws inspiration from the classic Roadster heritage and combines this traditional styling with the latest technology."
Founded in 1968 by Susumu Mitsuoka, Mitsuoka Motor Company is a unique Japanese automobile manufacturer which until recently has been largely unknown outside of Japan. It produces small volumes of hand-built luxury vehicles in its Japanese factory by skilled craftsmen.
Mitsuika says the company is one of "craftsmanship, luxury and elegance, where timeless classic cars are created with soul and passion".
White said: "We share in the philosophy and passion of Susumu Mitsuoka and genuinely believe that the Mitsuoka Roadster can make a real impression on those that want exclusive luxury - albeit at a very competitive price."
The Mitsuoka Roadster is available with power retractable hardtop - with manual or automatic transmission - at the standard equivalent price of R1 006 060 metallic or pearlescent paint at an extra R11 500.
