The new Alfa Spider, which shares its genes with the Brera, is to be launched at the Geneva Motor Show in March.
This two-seater, which is 1 830mm wide, 4 396mm long and 1 367mm high - is characterised by elongated rear lights and four exhaust pipes.
The interior of the Alfa Spider is similar to that of the Brera with a host of comfort features.
There will be two engine options available, a 135kW 2.2 JTS engine or the powerful 190 kW JTS.
It comes with high double wishbone suspension at the front and Multilink at the rear. The 3.2-litre derivative also features Alfa's state of the art "Q4" four wheel drive.
According to Fiat SA Public Relations Manager Clynton Yon the new Spider will be in South Africa in the final quarter of 2006.
