MADRID, Spain - Spanish MotoGP rookie Marc Marquez should have recovered from a shoulder injury sustained in a crash in Italy a week earlier in time for the Catalonia Grand Prix on June 16, 2013.
Honda rider Marquez lost control of his bike at more than 300km/h during Friday's (May 31) practice session but was able to race in Sunday's (June 2) Italian GP where he crashed again while running second in the closing stages.
'COMPLETELY RECOVER'
A doctor, who examined Marquez, said: "The progress in the 24 hours following the injury was very good. At first he had some difficulty lifting the arm but this has improved. He now only has some issues raising it sideways, which again is something from which, with physiotherapy, he will completely recover in time for the Catalan race."
Marquez, 20, is third in the MotoGP standings behind defending champion Jorge Lorenzo of Yamaha and leader and Honda team mate Dani Pedrosa.
