JOHANNESBURG - KTM is recalling the LC4 models 690 Enduro R and 690 SMC R MY2014 for checking by South African dealer franchises.
A news release from the company says that during routine testing during production KTM discovered that the tools used to fasten the footbrake lever to the footrest mounting of the 690 Enduro R and 690 SMC R were partly not adjusted correctly.
INFORMATION LETTER
There is the possibility that a screw was tightened with a reduced turning moment.
KTM will send an information letter to all customers of concerned and already shipped motorcycles.
Owners can check whether their motorcycle is affected by the recall by clicking on the 'Service' section of the KTM website.
The check of the mountinng can only be conducted by an authorised and qualified KTM dealer. The guaranteeing is free of charge and takes only short time.
