LONDON, England - Jeep’s sponsorship of 'Tough Mudder UK' is on track for success following its first event of the season at Henley-on-Thames in southern England.

'Tough Mudder'? It's one of the world's toughest human obstacle challenges and tests the endurance and strength of participants over a 19km course. They must swim through icy water, climb tall wooden structures, stagger through muddy baths and jog long distances.

The obstacles, Jeep says, often play on common human fears, such as fire, water, electricity and heights.

The sponsorship programme will see Jeep supporting all seven 'Tough Mudder' events through 2014 with an on-site presence and experiential activity. A number of Grand Cherokee, Wrangler and Cherokee units will provide logistical support at each event.

TOUGH OBSTACLES

Damien Dally, head of Jeep UK, said: “We were delighted by the first 'Tough Mudder' event in London - it certainly got our partnership off to a great start.

“The 'Tough Mudder' ethos is very much in line with that of Jeep. We’re not only passionate about adventure but also about encouraging people to challenge themselves – everybody who takes on a 'Tough Mudder' certainly does that."

John Fidoe, 'Tough Mudder' marketing director, said: “We’re incredibly excited to be working with Jeep. This is a great partnership for 'Tough Mudder', offering us a brand that will bring additional excitement and interest to the weekend experience.”
