An all-new S-TYPE is still a couple of years away, but in the mean time the British car maker has serious plans to give the current model new life.
The facelifted S-Type will be launched in the second half of 2006.
This substantially-revised car will come with new headlights, grille and bumper.
There will also be a revised bonnet to meet the new European pedestrian safety legislation.
Jaguar will be also making changes to the steering, suspension and handling, to ensure that the car will be competitive against the E-Class and 5 Series.
The interior will receive a major upgrade too with new trim and better quality materials.
The next generation S-Type is only due to be launched in 2009 and rumours have it that will be designed as a four-door coupe.
