Infographic: Here's where the cars of the world are produced

Cape Town - The Americans make Fords. The Italians, Ferrari. And while we manufacture the Volkswagen Polo and Ford Ranger, etc., South Africa is currently not producing any indigenous cars.

The following infographic gives an indication of the cars made in each continent around the world. However, Antartica has been excluded from this list, unless floating ice rocks your boat.

Nevertheless, the list includes cars produced in Europe, North America, Central and South America, Africa, Asia, and Australia.

Though not every manufacturer is included in this list, it does give a pretty fine insight into what goes on in each country and continent regarding cars.

But in Africa a couple of automakers have joined the game. In Morocco they build the Laraki Epitome - something that looks like the Bat Mobile.

In Nigeria they have the Innoson Motors Umu; a family-sized sedan. And in Tunisa the Wallys Iris - a bakkie(?).
