Toyota warns about fake e-mail

Johannesburg - Toyota South Africa has warned the public about a spam e-mail, using the carmaker's name to promote a so-called Toyota "lottery".
According to Toyota these e-mails inform people that they have won a prize from a so-called "Toyota International Lotto", "Toyota Car Promotions", "Toyota Car International Promotion Program" and "Toyota Fortune Lotto Draw".
"Toyota South Africa wishes to warn and inform the South African public that Toyota Motor Corporation and its affiliated companies have no connection whatsoever with any of the lotteries mentioned on these e-mails," a spokesperson said.
"Such e-mails were not sent by Toyota or with Toyota's permission."
