It's a month before Suzuki, the world's 12th largest carmaker, will re-launch its cars in South Africa. In June the Suzuki car brand will return to local shores with the introduction of two models.
In a recent meeting with Suzuki, company bosses told Wheels24 that it is currently setting up 15 dealerships around South Africa. Suzuki also promised that a proper parts and distribution network is being set in place.
The first two models to arrive here will be Suzuki's Yaris competitor, the Swift, and the SX4. The latter is a crossover-like vehicle which will compete against the Nissan Quashqai.
Wheels24 will attend the product launch of these two model derivatives early in June.
Later this year the Jimny, a small 4x4, and the Grand Vitara, a SUV, will join the line-up.
Suzuki Auto South Africa has been jointly established between Suzuki Motor Corporation who owns 85% of the equity in the newly formed company and Suzuki South Africa, the authorised importer and distributor of Suzuki motorcycles and outboard motors.
