Renault has rewarded its top dealerships across South Africa at a gala banquet.
Renault Fountains (Pretoria) has taken the title of Renault South Africa’s 2010 Club of Diamonds Dealership of the Year with Renault Clearwater (Roodepoort) scooping second place. Third place went to KwaZulu-Natal’s Renault Port Shepstone.
Fanus Jansen van Vuuren, Dealer Principal at Renault Fountains, was ecstatic to win the award after placing third in 2009.
“(The win) was due to a great team effort and, having come third in 2009, a firm belief by all that we could do it! In addition to this, we went the extra mile to ensure that our customers enjoyed a great experience at Renault Fountains and as we see here tonight, our efforts paid off," said van Vuuren.
Jansen van Vuuren said that trading conditions during 2010 had been tough but that the French carmaker's product line-up made trading easier.
“Renault’s support of us 110% of the way, is what enabled us to earn tonight’s award. We had to work hard to get the result that we did and I believe that Renault’s great marketing programme and their launch of an extraordinary product line-up made trading easier than it really was."
In addition to taking the top award for 2010, several Renault Fountains staffers were honoured.
In the large dealership award category, first place went to Kallie Schult (Sales Manager, New Vehicles) and Salven Magabane (Sales Executive, New Vehicles). Ashlin Pillay scooped second place in the Parts Manager category.
Van Vuuren says that Pillay's award is especially gratifying as it was his first year at the branch.
“(It's) an award I am especially proud of as 2010 was Ashlin’s first year at Renault Fountains and he succeeded in taking the department to a new level,” says Jansen van Vuuren.
