Pininfarina sticks to plan
The development plan implemented by the late Andrea Pininfarina will continue unchanged, it emerged in a board meeting on Tuesday where a new chairman was elected.
Meeting the for first time since the tragic death of Andreas Pininfarina, the company's board of directors unanimously elected his brother Paolo Pininfarina as the new chairman of the board.
The motion was proposed by his sister, Lorenza Pininfarina, who was also appointed provisional deputy chairman of the board.
Speaking after his appointment, Paolo Pininfarina said the board had responded immediately to the passing of his brother.
By placing its confidence in the people who had worked closely with his brother, Paolo said the company remained committed to ensuring the development plan laid out by Andrea was implemented.
The family has been in charge of the design house for more than 75 years.
