DETROIT, Michigan - General Motors' vice-chairman Steve Girsky says the
company will not sell Opel, its struggling European brand.
Girsky said after a speech in Detroit on Tuesday that GM would keep Opel and was developing plans to fix it. Earlier, Fiat/Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne had told reporters he wouldn't close the door on potential partners.
Opel had been the suggestion but Girsky claims to have spoken to Marchionne and the topic of selling Opel was not mentioned.
