More Chinese brands headed to SA

Executives from McCarthy Limited attended a shipping ceremony for its first consignment of Chinese vehicles destined for South Africa.

McCarthy will introduce a range of fully-imported Chinese vehicles into South Africa. These vehicles will be available from and supported by the range of McCarthy dealerships in major centres from July 2007.

"It was a very important occasion for all of us from McCarthy, as more than three years' of planning, research, development and testing culminated in this one moment," said Brand Pretorius, CEO of McCarthy Limited.

"The level of commitment and participation from high-level Chinese officials certainly reinforced our confidence in our vehicle import and distribution programme."

According to the company, the vehicles will be imported from reputable manufacturers using proven technology. They will also show modern designs and a high level of specification.
