Mercedes-Benz and MAN have secured bids to provide buses to government for use during the 2010 FIFA World Cup, the minister of transport Jeff Radebe said on Wednesday.

Mercedes-Benz will provide semi-luxury and intercity buses, while MAN will provide general spectators buses. 570 buses - 110 general spectator buses, 168 semi-luxury coaches and 292 Intercity buses - costing government R1.4 billion, will be acquired.
An additional 260 buses will be leased from the industry, bringing the total fleet provided by government to 830 vehicles.
