Mahindra is ready to compete at full strength in the petrol SUV segment after the company announced that stock levels of its Scorpio 2-litre petrol SUV have normalised.
The new-look Scorpio range was launched in South Africa in April 2006, which reinforced the vehicle's technology-driven growth as a world-class vehicle. Since then, more than 3 000 units of the Scorpio range have been sold locally. Over 30 000 Scorpio SUV units were sold in India during 2006.
The Scorpio is a stylish, affordable family SUV. The 2-litre 4x2 Petrol model boasts a 1998cc four-cylinder 16-valve multi-point fuel injected engine from Renault. It delivers 91kW of power at 5 500 r/min and 180 Nm of torque at 4 000 r/min.
The Scorpio SUV is rugged but the cabin is modern with all the essential comforts and conveniences. The interior boasts convenience and comfort, beginning with a streamlined instrument panel and console, and a host of utility spaces.
There is also a multitude of storage possibilities available: can/ cup alcoves, multi-utility spaces, a map pocket and a spacious glove box.
Other features include power steering, electric windows, a heating vent and aircon system with vents in the rear, electric fuel lid opener, defogger, cell phone holder and charger points.
