Mahindra to buy Volvo?

Speculation is growing over potential buyers of the up-for-sale Volvo from Ford Motor Group.

The company in the spotlight is Indian firm Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) who are said to be considering a bid. Sources say that the Mahindra brothers, who lost out to rival Tata Motors which aquired Jaguar Land Rover, could be trying to put in a joint bid that also includes private equity participation.

There is still speculation over possible Chinese interest from Ford's partner Changan, however Ford has denied any discussions.
