BIG, LITTLE PLANS: Jaguar's out to stun with its new sports car concept.
Jaguar will reportedly showcase a sports-car concept at the 2011 Frankfurt auto show in September that could launch it straight into Porsche Boxster territor
The marque’s show stand display is likely to focus on the new model which, a company source has previously said, would "blow the rest of the industry away" as Jaguar was keen to expand beyond its current three-model range. Earlier in 2011, Jaguar and Williams F1 inked a deal to build the electric C-X75 supercar in limited numbers.
However, it is rumoured that the model that will be based on the Frankfurt concept will be powered by a more conventional turbocharged V6 engine.
The new, smaller, model is seen by some as the spiritual successor to the legendary E-Type, which is celebrating its 50th year in 2011, although we can expect more detail when the concept is unveiled in September.
