Citroen wants to improve the ownership experience for its customers by offering a full-maintenance and warranty plan on most models. Citroen buyers can now convert their service plans (standard on all models except the C1 hatch) and standard warranties to full-maintenance plans and an extended warranty for five years or 100 000km. Called Freedrive, the option also applies to anyone who has bought a new Citroen in the last 12 months and has not yet taken the car for its first service.Citroen SA’s MD Frederic Chapuis said: “Freedrive is comprehensive and has no hidden clauses. As is customary, it excludes only tyres and lubricants between services. There is still a mindset prevalent that Citroen is an expensive brand to own in the long term but the truth is different."Parts surveys such as the Kinsey Report prove that our pricing has become highly competitive in the past year; delivery times to dealers have also been dramatically reduced.” Chapuis added that Citroen would soon offer a range of light commercials to help the brand to 4000 new vehicle sales in 2011.
